The Dixie Classic Fair will begin Friday September 28th and ends Sunday October 7th. This event brings large amounts of people from around the Piedmont Triad and other areas. Because of this, the Winston-Salem Police Department will have officers on site at all hours the fair operates. One of the main issues at the fair each year is missing children. If you happen to lose sight of your child or children, we ask that you report the missing child or children to a police officer, or make your way to the Fair Information Booth, located at the Clock Tower, where an officer can assist you.If you are dropping someone off at the fair and are picking them up at a later time, we ask that you make plans to pick them up in front of the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum, near Box Office.During the above listed dates you should expect traffic congestion in the surrounding areas of the fairgrounds. It is recommended you use alternate routes when possible or expect traffic delays.

Finally we ask anyone who may have witnessed a crime please report it to a police officer or is asked to contact the Winston-Salem Police Department at 336-773-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 336-727-2800. You can also view Crime Stoppers of Winston -Salem on Facebook.
